Board of Directors/Executive


Dr. Sufian Sheikh,

President 

Dr. Sufian Sheikh is a board-certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon in the United States and a Fellow of the Royal College of Canada for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is currently serving as the Chief of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery at Cambridge Memorial Hospital. Dr. Sheikh received his Dental and Medical Degree at Case Western Reserve University and completed his internship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at The Ohio State University Medical Center. He then completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at The Ohio State University Medical Center. He also received additional fellowship training in Head and Neck Cancer at the St. James hospital in Dublin, Ireland. Dr. Sheikh then worked as an Associate Professor in the department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and Head/Neck Cancer at the University of Vermont Medical Center and also served as the Director Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon for the Cleft and Craniofacial Association of Vermont. He currently also serves the pediatric cleft population through his affiliation with McMaster Cleft and Craniofacial program.



Dr. Zachary Kerr,
Past President

Dr. Zachary Kerr completed a Bachelor of Science degree at St. Francis Xavier and graduated with Honours in Chemistry.  He obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery at Dalhousie University in 2010.  After completing a one year General Practice Residency at London Health Sciences Centre & St. Joseph's Health Care London in 2011, he began his speciality training in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery at Western University and affiliated teaching hospitals.  He received his Doctor of Medicine and a Masters in Pathology in 2016.  Dr. Kerr was awarded his Fellowship with the Royal College of Dentists in 2017.  He has been practicing in Southwestern for the past two years.  He maintains hospital privileges at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital. 


Dr. Zain Manji,

Vice President

Dr. Manji received his Bachelor’s and Dental Degrees from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. After completion of dental school, he continued his studies in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at The Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City, where he also obtained his Medical Degree and Internship in General Surgery. After completion of his residency, he initially worked in New York City at both a busy Manhattan practice and in academics at Mount Sinai Hospital and Elmhurst Hospital Center as a Clinical Instructor. Since his move from New York City, he has been enjoying working in Brampton. He is a board certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon in both Canada and USA. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, registered as a specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Manji is also a Board Examiner at the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. Dr. Manji also enjoys giving back to his community at home and abroad. At home he maintains a position as an Instructor at the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry and is also involved in numerous outreach projects to aid the less fortunate.



Dr. Michael Laschuk,

Treasurer

Dr. Laschuk, a Windsor native, completed his OMFS residency at the University of Toronto. Prior to this, he completed three years of undergraduate training studying Chemistry at the University of Windsor. He then went on to complete his dental school training in 2013 at the University of Toronto. In 2015, he returned to Toronto and completed a one year Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Internship.Between his dental school and specialty training Dr. Laschuk worked as a general dentist for two years providing dental care in underserved areas across Canada including in Yellowknife, NWT and in many remote native reserves across northwestern Ontario. During his final year in residency, Dr. Laschuk joined a surgical educational mission to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.His scope of practice includes: orthognathic surgery, maxillofacial trauma and reconstruction, management of temporomandibular joint pathologies and disorders, oral and maxillofacial pathologies, bone grafting, dental implants, and wisdom tooth extraction under local or general anesthesia.



Dr. Keyvan Abbaszadeh,
Executive Director

Dr. Keyvan Abbaszadeh graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 1994. His post-graduate education included internship at the Brigham and Women's/Harvard University Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, followed by completing a residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1999. He has been in private practice in London, Ontario since then. Keyvan is a Fellow of, and an examiner for, the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. He is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Keyvan is an Adjunct Clinical Professor at the University Of Western Ontario School Of Dentistry.

Dr. Karl Cuddy,
Vice Chair 

Dr. Karl Cuddy completed studies in Dentistry (DDS), Medicine (MD), Master’s degree in Pathology (MSc) as well as surgical training at Western University, the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry and affiliated teaching hospitals.  Following this, further formal training included a fellowship in advanced craniomaxillofacial surgery and trauma through the Head and Neck Institute, Legacy Emanuel Medical Center and Portland Providence Medical Center in Portland, Oregon.  Dr. Cuddy’s primary appointment is as an Assistant Professor and director of education and maxillofacial trauma at the University of Toronto, providing care at Mt. Sinai Hospital and Princess Margaret Hospital.  His clinical interests include utilization of technology (ie. computer aided surgery and intraoperative imaging) to improve patient outcomes in craniomaxillofacial reconstructive surgery, the implications of delays on outcomes and cost of care in craniomaxillofacial trauma surgery as well as the rehabilitation of patients with defects or deformities of the face.



Dr. Leslie Diamond,
Chair

Dr. Diamond received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Toronto in 1990. After an internship at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto, he attended Boston University for his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency training, and received his specialty certificate in 1995. He is also a member of the Canadian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Canadian Dental Society, Ontario Dental Society, Waterloo Wellington Dental Society, Stratford District Dental Society, Oxford County Dental Society, and Brant County Dental Society.  He is a clinical instructor in undergraduate oral surgery at the University of Toronto, and has served as a Councilor with the Ontario Dental Association.
